LAND BASED WHALE WATCHING TOUR IN HERMANUS

It doesn’t matter how many images, how many films or how many documentaries you’ve seen about whales, nothing compares to actually observing them in their natural habitat. These massive yet gentle giants will steal your heart and leave you with a deep appreciation of one of the ocean’s largest mammals.
Hermanus is recognised as the whale watching capital of South Africa and there are few better ways to witness these gentle ocean giants than a land-based whale watching tour with Mytours.
We take the coastal route to the town of Hermanus where the many headland points for land-based whale sighting affords you the chance to see them up close as they approach the shore within 20 meters of the beach.

WITH MYTOURS, EVERY WHALE BOAT TRIP TO HERMANUS IS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Right Whales are the centre of attraction from June to November throughout the annual whale watching season.
A typical whale watching tour with us may allow the opportunity to encounter Cape Fur Seals, rare African penguins, and pods of Bottlenose Dolphins. Reliant upon the season, you may also get to observe migrating Humpback Whales & non-migratory Bryde’s Whales.

OPTIONAL BOAT BASED WHALE WATCHING TOUR WITH MYTOURS:

Our tour to the Cape Peninsula takes you along the picturesque Atlantic seaside, passing the immaculately white sandy beaches of Clifton & Camps Bay.

We then head on to the picture-perfect fishing village of Hout Bay where the impressive Sentinel can be observed. An optional boat ride to Seal Island (own account), is available or shop mementoes at the craft market.

Our Cape Peninsula tour then continues over Chapman’s Peak which provides incredible photo-taking opportunities, and then on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which is an excellent illustration of how the land once was several hundreds of years back in its virgin state of Cape Fynbos. If fortune favours, you may also see some small bucks, a variety of birds, Eland, the Cape Mountain zebra and the ever-curious baboons.

Our main stop will be at Cape Point which includes a break for lunch, after which we move on to the popular lighthouse where you get to observe the convergence of the two ocean currents. From here, our furthest point south, we head north to Cape Town on the False Bay side of the peninsula with our ultimate scheduled stop at Boulders to explore the renowned penguin colony.

We ensure Full-Day Cape Peninsula Tour is more enjoyable and memorable with our tour guides.
