ROBBEN ISLAND TABLE MOUNTAIN TOUR

ITINERARY

We head for the Table Mountain cableway to the summit of this world-famous natural heritage. With free time to walk the trails on the top of Table Mountain and soak up the views far away from the city crowds and visit all the viewing points in all directions with a fabulous overview of the city. If the weather is favourable, you will have 360-degree panoramas of the “Mother City” which are truly breathtaking from this vantage point. What makes Table Mountain so distinctive is that it forms a natural coliseum around the city which is truly remarkable.

From here you get to experience our complimentary mini city trip where we’ll drive by some of the important historical landmarks of the city with a quick stop at the popular Bo Kaap to observe the vibrant colourful houses found there. The electrifying town of Bo Kaap is placed on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre embracing the Cape Malay culture.

After leaving Bo Kaap, we move on to the Noon day gun on Signal Hill where the daily noon day firing of the canon is an honourd tradition. The canon is operated by the South African navy, and you will be delighted by the officer as he tells the history behind the tradition of firing the world’s longest canon.

When our visit to Signal Hill comes to an end, we head to Robben Island. Here we meet up with an ex-pollitacl tour who takes us on a guided tour island. During this island visit, we pass by the Lime Quarry where prisoners toiled hard, the Maximum-Security Prison, and a sighting of Mandela’s cell. We complete our tour with a drive around the small island.

Your Robben Island & Table Mountain Full Day Tour ends and we now head to your hotel.
